I am 15 and I am looking for a part time job?

I am looking for something that i can work in the summer and on the weekends during the school year. I am very mature for my age and have done lots of volunteer work for the past 5 years and I am ready for a paying job. Does anyone have any advice.

Make sure you get your work permit signed by teacher/school and your parent. The only things that you might be able to find at 15 would be fast foods. After a few months and when you're 16 perhaps you'd be able to qualify as a part time shift manager. (more pay and more benefits). Other things such as "errand runner" for a doctor's office or a lawyer's office might be something you can look into but not sure of the age requirement in that since times have changed since I used to do that in a lawyer's office when I was still in High School.

Check into Day Care centers, Hospitals that might allow you to do certain types of jobs. Do some research, get out there and ask around. Other than fast foods and running errands for professionals, there's not a lot to offer 15 yr olds just yet.

Good luck !
Reply:You are only 15 and won't be able to work very long on the weekends...so if you are not wanting try to work fastfood, grocery, movie theaters, or a clothing/retail store, then try your local zoo, museum or even a law firm to see if they need filing or someone to answer phones on the weekend. The problem is your age limits the amount of hours you can work in a week and you cannot work too long on the weekends, I would try your favorite store, it is worth it, just for the discount on the items you purchase regularly for school or personal use. If you love the product, then you will love working with it.
Reply:When I was your age I worked as a camp counselor at the YMCA during the summer and then in the YMCA's after school program during the school year. It was a great job, because it was fun working with kids, your get to spend a lot of time outside, the other staff were great, and hours were awesome (started right after school and never went past 6:30 pm, and no weekends). Pay was descent too.
Reply:As a mom of 2 small children, I'm always looking for a great babysitter. If you enjoy being with small children, this might be one way to make some extra income. If you're really good, and have some type of certification (like through the Red Cross), you can charge more than other babysitters (and make much more than you would at a fast food joint). You better believe I'm going to call the person my children love to babysit them, even if it costs a few more dollars. You can also build great references from the parents for college or other paying jobs down the road.

Best wishes on whatever you decide to do!
